Thriving Earth Exchange Advisory Board

Charge
The TEX Advisory Board will:

  • Provide ongoing strategic direction and oversight of the TEX initiative, including expanding beyond the initial pilot projects
  • Serve as ambassadors for TEX with AGU members, potential sponsors and other key stakeholders
  • Help TEX develop strategic partnerships
  • Provide input and advice regarding communications and program design
  • Provide advice on multi- year operational and business plan and assess progress in meeting the plan
  • Provide regular reports to and consult with AGU Board and Council as needed
  • Advise on overall fiscal, operational and partnership policies
  • Advise on policy for addressing legal and other contractual issues
  • Consult with the honorary chairs as needed and provide an annual TEX report to the honorary chairs

The Advisory Board will have up to 20 members plus the AGU President, AGU President elect and AGU ED/CEO who will serve as ex officio members. It will meet up to 3 times per year. At least one meeting will be in person. The other meetings, to the extent possible, will be held virtually, to minimize travel and time demands. Membership will consist of representatives from current and future AGU board and council leadership; representatives from community organizations, scientists, and sponsors/funders, and experts in legal, communications/marketing, and crowdsourcing platforms.
